Artist's Comments

First of all - so, SO sorry about the largeness of the Full View image, but any smaller and it got too blurry. I'd still recommend giving it a close view (well of course I would, I'm the artist).

Right! This is based on the Top Gear episode where Richard Hammond and James May went to work for the Scooterman (sp?) company, which basically involved them driving around on tiny little detatchable motorbikes. There was more to it than that, but little matter. As I adored this little stunt so much, I had to draw it (as one does). A bit of Richard's came off when he was trying to fit it back together, hence the quotation (although James wasn't with him when it happened).

Completely improvised on the leathers, all I can rememebr from the programme was that Richard's gear had red on it and James' was completely black, if not, then just about. And he had a funky little scarf. And goggles.

I love James May so.

But anyway! Coloured pencils are fast becoming my new love. As is the norm, please comment if you favourite this deviation.

Created with 0.7mm mechanical pencil (I love you Seth), Pentel Superb ballpoint pen, and Crayola coloured pencils.

Top Gear belongs to the BBC, and not to me.

Was the the one where they were driving drunk people home? that was brilliant.
Top Gear is great. (and the theme tune's a Allman Brother's Song. Jessica's one of my favourites)

his scarf is so cool.
overall brillinatness. well done, sir!

Hoorahs and joys!

YES, that's the one. And Richard is afraid of offending anyone, so they agreed "all condiments are bad". So the steering wheel was a bit salty. And the brakes were like cranberry sauce.

I didn't know that about the theme tune. It's one of the few television programme themes that I actually enjoy, along with HIGNFY's theme and Jonathan Creek's.

JAMES' SCARF FOR PM

(thankyou!)

Did you see the one where James played the theme tune using car engine noises? it did sound very odd, but was very funny.
the Allman Brothers are good fun, but a bit long and hard listening sometimes (especailly the half hour guitar and drum solos)
"it's a bit.. peppery.."

Oh, bless James, he was so proud of it after he'd finished lugging the chalkboard around in the passenger seat and getting all the notes... then Jeremy and Richard just fell about laughing over it.

The inbetweeny-voiceover chap talked all over the playout, though. Git.

"So if I can't fit the bike into the boot I'll say it's... horseradish?"

I've never seen Top Gear. What's it about?
I really like how you colored them.
And that Hammond's fingers look cool (y'know, the one of his shoulder xD).
And I like their hair lots.

Top Gear is a television programme that consists of three blokes - Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May - driving cars around, reviewing them, taking the mick out of them, and performing mad stunts with the ones they don't like. And blowing up a lot of caravans.

I'm dead pleased you like the hair, that's the bit I was fretting over the most whilst colouring it.

Maybe I'll get to watch it sometimes - it sounds crazy.

It's good, even if you don't like cars. I find them dull, but I'm still addicted to the programme.
