Artist's Comments

[Initial mini-note: Please comment if you favourite this deviation. It can be a sentence or an essay, just tell me what you liked about it. Or just that Top Gear is cool, because we all know it is.]

Because sometimes, you just want to say "buggrit!" to college deadlines, drawing obligations and sleep, and instead just draw Jeremy Clarkson flailing about like a fool on some snow. I futzed around with the line colour levels and made them blue, however damned cool do I think that looks.

Most UK-ers will identify that this stemmed from the Top Gear Winter Olympics (best televised spoof ever), specifically just after Clarkson's attempt on the frozen lake, as he's trying to convince James that HE won due to his style. Then he falls over. Hah. If you haven't the foggiest what I'm on about, don't worry. This piece demonstrates ACTIVE POSING, something I don't really know how to do so I tend to avoid.

It was with some embarrassment I realised that I couldn't remember for the LIFE of me what anyone was wearing throughout the entire episode. So, I just kinda guessed. I know James had a cool hat and a black t-shirt! But since he's not in this picture, it's of little use. Hmm. This happens when I watch things, if I know at that time that I'll be drawing something from it, I'll take mental notes regarding attire, but as it happened I didn't think I would be so I didn't. But I did, and I haven't, so I guessed.

Hah.

Top Gear belongs to the BBC!

Aaw, Yay! Jeremy Clarkson! I've never seen Top Gear, but I recognized him from his appearances on QI. X3 I <3 his expression and you managed to get his features really accurately in the cartoony style.

I am unfamiliar with the Top Gear Winter Olympics (last time I watched TV was probably summer) so I don't have any clue of the source material. Well, I know Top Gear, but never really watched it. However, it's definitely Jeremy Clarkson slipping over, and for some reason that always amuses me, so I like this anyway.
