Hurrah for James from Top Gear!
Drew this in my sketchbook last night shortly before my inkpen leaked everywhere. I've still got a dark fingertip. Anyway, it was the best of the bunch, so I scanned it in, spruced it up and shaded it. You may notice a difference in the shading on this one in comparison to my usual way of executing my style, the only difference here is I'm using three layers of lightness and three of darkness instead of two. (Normally it's one dark skintone to shade the face and then a grey tone on top of that, this has two dark skintones and one grey. Normally the hair only has one shade of light and dark, this has two of each. Sorry If I've lost you by this point, I'm confusing even myself) Oh, and on his hair I used a large AND a tiny blending tool to get texture. So in conclusion! A nice little James. Now I've re-established that I can draw him satisfactorily, expect the odd Deviation popping up from time to time with him in it. I need to do a series of Top Gear Moments. Also, I'm not being unimaginitive and dressing him in Paul's turtleneck - that's James' best jumper by his own admission. Although I prefer his orange striped one... I wanted to sign it Bjorn06, but only a couple of people might have got it. (Do I need a disclaimer? I'm not sure. Top Gear belongs to the BBC, there you go.) |
